Meal Applications

(*Special Note: Serving meals based upon Free, Reduced, and/or Paid eligibility status is currently on hold due to a recent USDA announcement regarding the Seamless Summer Option wavier extension; through December 31, 2020; however, NCSS School Nutrition Program highly encourage all households to submit an online application (as soon as possible) in anticipation that Free, Reduced, and/or Paid meal benefit status will be utilized to serve meals starting January 2021!),

On October 21, 2020, the Free and Reduced statues of all Newton County Schools' students will reflect the processing results of your family's (household) 2020-2021 Free and Reduced application. If your family (household) fail to submit a family (household) Free and Reduced application for this school year, your child(ren) 2019-2020 Free and Reduced status will change to Paid meals until a newly submitted Free and Reduced application is processed and determined as eligible for Free or Reduced meals for the 2020-2021 school year. Parents/Guardians are responsible for charges incurred until a current approved Free or Reduced application is on file for 2020-2021 school year.

You may apply for Free and Reduced price meals by clicking this link (Highly Recommended for Virtual School Start-up 2020-21):

If you believe your child qualifies for Free or Reduced Price Meal benefits, please complete a family (household) Free and Reduced Price Meal application.  Please complete only one application per family (household).  Be sure to list all students enrolled in Newton County Schools as well as all other family members (e.g., spouse) on the application.

Applications are available online, at the school office or cafeteria, and are sent home to every household at the beginning of the school year.  A new application must be completed for your family (household) each school year.  Even if your child(ren) were determined eligible for benefits last year, a new application must be completed for the current school year.

Applications may be submitted at any of the following locations:

  • School Front Office
  • School Cafeteria
  • Homeroom Teacher
  • Service Center (Operations Division-11031 Covington Bypass-School Nutrition)
  • Online using the link above
